 Of all the productivity enhancing tips I've read recently this one beats them all.
It's so simple but it makes a big difference for me. Autologon. I have sacked Windows login malarky on my home machine in favour of BIOS password protection and autologin. Now I can turn on my machine, enter a BIOS password and go and get a cup of tea. No more typing in a Windows password and WAITING for Windows to load its sorry ass.
I stumbled across this little beauty whilst looking through the options in X-Setup. This tweak is not new or clever but it does save time. When I come back to my machine following a reboot, it's actually ready to be used. Fresh!
